History
This groups began activities in 2005, organizing a suicide prevention conference which was attended by nearly 300 people. SPAN Eastern Idaho was formally organized in July 2006.

Activities
The Chapter has conducted many prevention awareness and education activities since it first organized. In September 2007, the Chapter held a very successful suicide prevention conference, “It Takes a Community to Save a Life” in Idaho Falls. In October 2009, this chapter help a well-attended two-day conference, “Suicide – Let’s Talk about It” featuring Dr. Thomas Joiner and Dr John Landers.  They continued to carry out activities relating to goals they have established. These include compiling survivor packets to be given to families and friends after a loss to suicide; a speaker’s bureau to provide prevention information to groups at workplaces, clubs, schools, and others; and a media campaign including PSAs, newspaper ads and billboards.

The SPAN Eastern Idaho Chapter hold regular meeting the 1st Thursday of each month at 12:00 noon at Behavioral Health Center, 2280 E 25th Street in Idaho Falls.
